Summer is coming and we all know that there aren’t a lot of things better than a few days of relaxation in the south of Spain. Without order of preference, today we present the 10 best beaches in Andalusia. Get your swimsuit and towel ready because you're going to want to get away right away!

Playa de los Genoveses, Níjar (Almería)

Between turquoise and brown colours, in Níjar we find a spectacular landscape: the Playa de los Genoveses. We are starting the list strong with one that is always at the top of the best beaches in Andalusia. A virgin beach in the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata with clean and thin sand, in a wild environment that will fascinate you.
The months of July and August you must pay about 5 euros to access by car, or you can pay less and go by bus.

Playa de Bolonia, Tarifa (Cádiz)

Another of the favourites of the Spaniards is Playa de Bolonia in the municipality of Tarifa. Almost 4 kilometres of golden sand, vegetation and even Roman runes await you there. You will also find a giant dune that you can climb but be aware that it looks smaller than it really is.
A completely paradisaic beach, one of the last virgins in the area and loved by those who practice wind sports such as windsurfing or kitesurfing.

El Portil, Punta Umbría (Huelva)

El Portil is a long family beach with calm waters and several chiringuitos. Although in the summertime it is usually very crowded with locals and tourists, it is worth visiting one of the best-known beaches in Huelva.
You will be able to find the remains of bunkers built in the dictator Franco era. As you can see, the beaches of Andalusia also have their share in Spanish history.

Cala la Rijana, Gualchos (Granada)

One of the most spectacular beaches on the Granada coast. Cala la Rijana is small compared to others on the list, with a total length of 250 meters and is known to be a perfect place to snorkel among the orange coral and varieties of fish. The rocks at both ends of the beach have crevices and passageways that are ideal for the diversity of underwater wildlife that it hosts.
It has a beach bar where you can have a drink or rent a kayak to explore it better.

Ensenada de Mónsul, Níjar (Almería)

Literally 10 minutes by car from Playa de los Genoveses we find the Ensenada de Mónsul. A beautiful beach surrounded by volcanic rocks, well known for snorkelling and its schools of fish.
You will recognize it right away because there is a large stone in the centre that makes it the ideal place to take photos.
During the summer season it happens as in others that you must pay to access the nearest parking.

Playa de los Alemanes, Tarifa (Cádiz)

Tranquillity, crystal clear waters, and white sand, you will have all this in Playa de los Alemanes, also known as Playa de la Plata. Very close to Zahara de los Atunes, but away from the noise, it is without a doubt one of the most popular places in the south.
We will also find a bunker from the Second World War and in fact, according to popular belief, the beach gets its name from the Germans who took refuge in it during that turbulent time.

Cuesta Maneli, Mazagón and Matalascañas (Huelva)

Although the surrounding beaches are equally spectacular such as Playa Médano del Loro and Asperillo Cliff, Cuesta Maneli had to be on this list.
The way to get to the beach is just as spectacular as the beach itself. A wooden walkway that runs along the Asperillo dune and takes you to a natural paradise of 1,200 meters.
You will need to pay for parking, although it is a lower amount than others that we have already mentioned.

Playa de los Muertos, Carboneras (Almería)

It is one of the beaches that you cannot miss in Cabo de Gata! In the heart of Almería we find the Playa de los Muertos. You will immediately recognize it by its characteristic giant rock surrounded by water and sand.
It gets its name because as it is a natural meeting place for different currents, it was formerly the place where the bodies of those who lost their lives in the sea appeared.
A beach that surprises for being totally straight and that also usually heads the rankings of the best beaches in Andalusia and throughout Spain.

Playa de Maro, Nerja (Málaga)

Playa de Maro is a wild beach on the Costa del Sol with cliffs that make it an even more impressive spot.
It could be considered that it is small, compared to the others on the list, with only 500 meters in length. Perfect for kayaking among rocks, blue water, and waterfalls! A route is usually made from Burriana, a neighbouring town, sailing between the limestone caves. It is popular for its easy access, since it has the parking really close.
In addition, this is located in the area known as the Costa de Maro, so you can discover more beaches or coves around it that are just as amazing.

Playa de la Caleta, Cádiz (Cádiz)

We are finishing with another one in Cádiz that could not be missed: Playa de la Caleta. The truth is that in summer it will be overflowing, even so it is worth visiting. One good option is to try and go during sunset.
Located in the historic centre of Cádiz, with two castles at both ends that can also be visited and with which you will have views of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a place that has inspired many musicians and artists and has appeared in different films, one of the unmissable sights of the south.
