On this route, each pilgrim chooses where to start their Camino: you can start it from Roncesvalles, the original starting point in France, or in the Spanish cities of Pamplona, Burgos or León, among others.
Between forests, rivers and medieval monasteries, this is a route of the Camino de Santiago on which you are sure to meet many people.

The Primitive Way

The Portuguese Way

If you feel like doing something a little different, you can reach Santiago de Compostela from the south with the Portuguese Way. This route offers spectacular scenery, cliffs and beaches overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
For this route, you normally start from Oporto and it has a high difficulty, compared to the others that we present you, because there are stages of more than 30km.
Although if you decide to start this route of the Portuguese Way from Vigo, you will only have 5 stages of about 20km on average to Santiago de Compostela, so it is a good option if you do not have much time to do the Camino and you want a special route.
